12. Lombardy Christmas markets: Oh Bej! Oh Bej!
Christmas triumphs when, in Milan, the traditional market "Oh Bej! Oh Bej!" is set up. The name of this quaint little market comes from the exclamations of joy that Milanese children had in 1510 when receiving gifts from the papal envoy on the occasion of his entry into the city. Translated into Italian they are the little market "Oh Belli! Oh Belli!"
This famous Milanese Christmas shopping market is considered the most important event of the Christmas season; in fact, for this event in the Lombard capital a real crowd of fans will converge even from neighboring towns.
In more than 25,000 square meters of exhibition space around the Sforzesco Castle, there are about three hundred exhibitors that allow fans of Lombardy Christmas Markets to rediscover the authentic atmosphere of the past and the most representative merchandise genres of the historic fair. Most of the exhibitors are expressions of the Milanese tradition.
This year it will be open from December 7th to 10th, 2023 around Castello Sforzesco and in Parco Sempione.
11. Lombardy Christmas markets: in Piazza Duomo under the gaze of the Madonnina
Also, in the historic center of Milan and under the gaze of the Madonnina, 34 decorated wooden huts will be placed in Piazza Duomo, Via Campo Santo and Via dell'Arcivescovado, with 64 exhibitors with many gift ideas. During the Christmas season in Albosaggia, a mountain town in Valtellina, there are two days of Lombardy Christmas Markets wrapped in an evocative atmosphere among stalls, music, games and shows for young and old. In Valtellina this is one of the most anticipated Christmas events.
In this year's edition, gastronomic events and tastings of typical products will be held in two large heated domes, as well as the many activities for children such as fairy tales, shows, workshops, baby make-up and state-of-the-art attractions.

In the green Piazza Virgiliana in the heart of the city of Mantua, the Lombardy Christmas Markets take place.
