Palazzo Doria Pamphilj: a Baroque gem in the heart of Rome's city center

The stunning private residence, the Doria Pamphilj Palace, still owned by the aristocratic Doria Pamphilj family, is home to the largest private collection in Italy. Situated along the bustling and crowded Via del Corso, the Doria Pamphilj Palace is one of the most captivating and lesser-known historic attractions. With gorgeous and opulent galleries filled with incredible masterpieces, the Doria Pamphilj Gallery is one of the must-see places to visit in Rome for anyone who wants to see something different from the classic tourist attractions.

Visiting the Doria Pamphilj Gallery offers a quieter, more intimate cultural experience: with its gilded halls, antique furniture, and priceless art, the palace provides a rare glimpse into Rome's noble past. The galleries are decorated with masterpieces made by some of the most important artists in history, such as Titian, Raphael, Caravaggio, Parmigianino, Guercino, and Velazquez, and the palace itself is an architectural masterpiece of Baroque elegance with centuries of aristocratic history.

Located inside a modest entrance on Via del Corso, Doria Pamphilj Palace opens into a world of lavish rooms, frescoed ceilings, glittering chandeliers, and ornate stucco work that echo the power and wealth of the Pamphilj family across centuries. The heart of the palace is the stunning Doria Pamphilj Gallery, an elegant and gorgeous suite of rooms arranged around a central courtyard. This gallery houses one of the most important private art collections in Rome, which has been curated by the family since the 16th century.
