A tour dedicated to three icons of the Sicilian Baroque.
Three unique settings born from the extraordinary reconstruction following the devastating earthquake of 1693 that razed the entire Val di Noto. We will visit Noto, the "stone garden," entirely rebuilt ex novo after the destruction of the ancient medieval site.
We will stroll through sumptuous streets to discover architectural treasures, captivated by the elegance of local splendor, where every noble palace tells a family story and the theatrical churches celebrate ancient ecclesiastical power.
Then we'll continue to Modica, where the virtuosity of the Cathedral of San Giorgio, with its spectacular location and bold perspectives, is a world-class masterpiece. Modica also boasts a famous gastronomic record: its chocolate. We will taste this culinary masterpiece, cold-processed according to the ancient Aztec tradition brought to Sicily by Spanish conquistadors in the 16th century.
Finally, we'ill visit Ragusa Ibla, an ancient city where post-earthquake Baroque architectural virtuosity dialogues with ancient Roman and medieval ruins, all set within the spectacular natural scenery of the Hyblaean Mountains.
