Inside the Galleria dell'Accademia you’ll not only find Michelangelo’s, _David_, but other masterpieces from this great Florentine artist, including _Prisoners_ and _St. Matthew_. You'll also see a disputed work that is sometimes credited to the artist, _Palestrina's Pietà_.

This exceptional concentration of Michelangelo's works has contributed significantly to the fame of the Accademia Gallery, making it the second most visited museum in Florence after the Uffizi.

Given the relative narrowness of the museum's spaces and the large turnout, there’s always long lines of tourists waiting to enter, so a reserved entrance ticket is worth the price.
