Milan Fashion Week Men's Collection is just around the corner. Industry insiders and fashion addicts alike can't wait to discover the new trends for the Fall/Winter 2022/2023 season. In this moment there is a great need for creativity and Beauty to leave behind a difficult moment and start again with renewed energy. This edition of fashion week will celebrate the return of physical events, although some will be held digitally. From January 14th to 18th, 2022, the Italian fashion capital is set to become the ideal stage for big names and emerging designers. Here they will present their creations to the global fashion industry, in a Fashion Week capable of generating a staggering volume of business. The fashion shows, parties, exhibitions, galas and events organised by the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana (The National Chamber for Italian Fashion) and its partners will take place in different locations. There are five of them, spread across a city ready to shine in the spotlight.

Fashion, as we know, is made of the same material as dreams. Are you ready to immerse yourself in a universe of catwalks and exclusive locations? Let's find out which temples will host the shows of the divinities of Italian and international fashion and the collateral events.

5. New gods' temples: the catwalks of the Italian fashion capital

Vittorio Emanuele Gallery, Milan

I think a very realistic definition of "divinity" is: "someone or something that knows how to make the fate of the world revolve around itself". And it's not just a question of the huge volume of business it moves. The fashion industry attracts so much attention because we have an innate need for Beauty, and designers have the power to create dreams, for all tastes. Yet needle and thread are not the only tools with which they create this magic: there is also the show itself. After all, fashion itself is a great show, elegant, cheeky, captivating, conceived down to the tiniest detail according to the brand's style and its personal desire to amaze, because this, perhaps, is the most important thing. A high-level fashion event is a mechanism studied in every detail. Designers who have to present their collections leave nothing to chance: everything has to be perfect and the location certainly plays its part. This is why they choose to set up their catwalks in luxurious historical buildings or in modern innovative spaces. But that's still not enough. Brands and stylists do everything they can to attract media attention to their catwalk shows, trying to grab the most famous showbiz stars of the moment.

Unfortunately, due to the increase in Covid-19 infections, the provisional calendar of fashion shows has changed several times. Some brands have preferred showroom appointments, designers like Giorgio Armani have forfeited and others like JW Anderson - making his Fashion Week debut - have chosen to present their collections online. Participants have to comply with anti-covid rules established by Italian government.

Do you want to know which big names will be walking the catwalks? They include Ermenegildo Zegna (who will open the event), Fendi, Dolce & Gabbana and Prada, as well as some new wave brands and a few debuts. Here is the full calendar of shows and the locations where they will take place:

4. Fashion Film Festival Milano 2022 Digital Awards at Triennale Milano

Fashion Film Festival Milano is the most important international festival of fashion and culture in the world. It is an event that celebrates the union between fashion and cinema; it is realised in collaboration with the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, founded and directed by Constanza Etro. Its eighth edition is scheduled from January 14th to 18th, 2022 during MFW Men in a hybrid format between digital and in presence. The online part will involve three platforms at the same time: the official website of the festival, the platform of the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana and MyMovies.it. In these channels we will see how big names in cinema tell stories featuring the most emblazoned maison of high fashion and emerging talents.
Here are the numbers of the event: 260 fashion films from over 60 countries, two special projects in the Fuori Concorso (Out of Competition) section and four feature films dedicated to prominent personalities and important social issues.

The awards ceremony will take place during the second edition of the Digital Awards, on show at Triennale Milano, during which an international jury will announce the winners of the 15 categories. They will receive dedicated video messages and the digital award created by the international design and decoration atelier Fornasetti.

How to participate in Fashion Film Festival Milano 2022?

François Berthoud

3. The areas dedicated to the exhibition Hyperillustrations by François Berthoud

Via Montenapoleone, Milan

François Berthoud is one of the most iconic contemporary illustrators. With the exhibition Hyperillustrations by François Berthoud, Fondazione Sozzani Milan and Bulgari celebrate this true artist of our time, who boasts a career spanning 40 years. Thanks to his unique style, which lies somewhere between Pop Art and German Expressionism, Berthoud is one of the most sought-after illustrators by fashion houses around the world. His designs embody that fascinating sphere between the elegant and the erotic. A selection of his works - some of which were created exclusively for Bulgari - will be on display from January 14th to February 15th, 2022 at the Bulgari Boutique on Via Montenapoleone 2 and from January 15th to March 27th, 2022 at Fondazione Sozzani on Corso Como 10.

How to visit François Berthoud's exhibition Hyperillustrations?

If you want to know if and how you can visit the exhibition, here is the answer in the words of Boris Barboni, Bulgari Managing Director Italy & Turkey: "Bulgari continues its tradition of artistic and cultural patronage by bringing the works of one of the most famous fashion illustrators of our century back to Milan. The Milan boutique seemed to us the most natural place to host this exhibition as the city of Milan marked Berthoud's beginnings and success. We are proud to once again open the doors of our Maison to the Milanese and to all those who wish to discover or rediscover the illustrations of this extraordinary artist".

2. … & others

And that's not all. Many other events are scheduled in the calendar of this new edition of Men's Fashion Week. After all, Milan has no equal in Italy when it comes to celebrating fashion. On 14th January at Triennale Milano it will be possible to visit the exhibitions "The People I Like" and "I gioielli della fantasia" (The jewels of fantasy): here Triennale Milano wants to pay homage to the great photographer Giovanni Gastel who died last March. On 15th January the fashion house C.P Company will celebrate the 50th anniversary of its opening to the public with an event in the spaces of BASE Milano. On 15th January at 9 p.m. Gucci will host at the Gucci Hub the concert of the Australian band Parcels, strictly by invitation only. On 16th January it will be the turn of the special installation and live performance by ANTI-DO-TO and on the 17th of the events by Woolrich and Vestiaire Collective X Fondazione Sozzani.

1. Online platforms and live streaming

Do you remember we mentioned the existence of a way to watch the fashion shows? In fact, there are even two. The online platform milanofashionweek.cameramoda.it was launched on the occasion of the digital fashion weeks and has become a very important reference point for all those working in the sector but also for many enthusiasts. Here the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana will make available all the events on the calendar and the contents of the Milan Fashion Week, which will be available worldwide. Alternatively, it will be possible to watch the fashion shows in live streaming from the maxi-screen located in the heart of the Fashion District, in Piazza San Babila.

If this ethereal, fantastic world of fashion appeals to you, don't miss the chance to experience "The Show", because this is the factory where dreams are created. Milan Fashion Week offers a show like no other. And who doesn't love Beauty?
