20. Admiring timeless elegance, Armani/Silos, Milan

Let’s start in Milan, the city of design, fashion and visions that become a recognizable style all over the world. At Via Bergognone 40, Giorgio Armani opened Armani/Silos in 2015, an exhibition space created to celebrate forty years of his career.

The museum occupies a former 1950s granary, now transformed into a refined space perfectly aligned with the designer’s creative universe. Armani chose to call it “Silos” because grain, an essential material for life, was once stored there. In the same way, according to his vision, clothing is something that interprets existence and gives it shape.

Visiting Armani/Silos means stepping into Giorgio Armani’s mind and observing up close the evolution of an aesthetic language based on proportion, elegance, freedom and absolute control of detail.

The permanent collection features a selection of garments from the Giorgio Armani Privé collections and leads you through twenty years of haute couture, among fluid lines, colors, exotic inspirations and silhouettes that have redefined the very idea of contemporary refinement.

Since 2016, alongside the permanent collection, Armani/Silos has also hosted temporary exhibitions dedicated to fashion, photography, architecture and design, confirming itself as a stop where Made in Italy can be breathed in and experienced as a form of thought.

Experiencing the ritual of the red aperitivo, Galleria Campari, Sesto San Giovanni

We stay in Lombardy and move just outside Milan, to Sesto San Giovanni, where our journey through the icons of Made in Italy meets one of the most recognizable symbols of the Italian aperitivo: Campari.

By visiting Galleria Campari, you step behind the scenes of the famous red aperitivo, invented in 1860, and discover how a product gradually became a cultural and social language. The museum is housed inside the historic Art Nouveau building of the former production site commissioned by Davide Campari in 1904, the brand’s first major industrial location.

Historic posters, works of art and design objects guide you through the creations of great names such as Dudovich, Cappiello, Depero, Crepax and Nespolo. Alongside them, multimedia content, advertising films also directed by masters such as Federico Fellini, and creations by contemporary designers turn Galleria Campari into an immersive experience, suspended between memory and the present day.

The ideal finale is a special aperitivo at Bar Campari, moving from storytelling to taste and experiencing firsthand one of the most beloved Italian rituals in the world.

18. Stepping into the history of espresso coffee, MUMAC - Cimbali Group, Binasco

🥇 Visit Italy’s brand partnership

Still in Lombardy, we reach Binasco, where our journey through Made in Italy meets one of the most recognizable Italian gestures in the world: espresso coffee. Here you’ll find MUMAC - Museo della Macchina per Caffè by Cimbali Group, the largest permanent exhibition dedicated to the history, technology and design of professional coffee machines.

Founded in 2012 to celebrate the centenary of Giuseppe Cimbali’s workshop, a tinsmith and plumber in Milan, the museum was created to preserve an Italian industrial heritage that helped transform coffee into an everyday social and cultural ritual.

The visit takes you on a journey through time, with more than 100 machines on display, each telling the story of a century of technical, aesthetic and industrial evolution. Every room recreates the atmosphere of the period it represents, with furnishings, graphics, background music and audiovisual materials that make the route immersive.

MUMAC shows how the espresso coffee machine became a milestone of Italian industrial design, but also a mirror of social changes, tastes and ways of experiencing coffee, from its origins to the present day.

To make the experience even more engaging, the museum also offers MUMAC Coffee Escape, the world’s first coffee-themed escape room. You can choose Mystery mode, a detective adventure of about one hour through the museum’s seven rooms, or Investigation mode, a longer and more complex experience that also includes access to the exclusive areas of the MUMAC Academy.

17. Experiencing the legend of Italian motors, Museo Alfa Romeo, Arese

Before leaving Lombardy, the journey stops in Arese, in a place that speaks to those who love design, speed and great Italian industrial stories. Museo Alfa Romeo stands in the area once occupied by the brand’s headquarters and preserves some of the most significant pieces from its historic collection.

As you step inside, you travel through more than a century of automotive passion, from the first A.L.F.A. car, the 24 HP of 1910, to the models that wrote unforgettable pages in racing history and in the collective imagination. Along the way, you encounter the legendary winners of the Mille Miglia, such as the 6C 1750 Gran Sport and the 8C models, the queens of Formula 1, including the G.P. Tipo 159 “Alfetta”, and the protagonists of the World Sportscar Championship, such as the 33 TT 12 and SC 12.

The museum is organized into three sections, each reflecting a different soul of Alfa Romeo’s DNA: Timeline, Beauty and Speed. The first retraces the brand’s industrial continuity, the second celebrates design as a form of Italian seduction, while the third brings you into the adrenaline of competitions and great sporting triumphs.

The multimedia spaces make the experience even more engaging, turning the visit into a living story. You can watch 360-degree virtual reality films, enter a cinema room with interactive seats and experience 4D screenings dedicated to the brand’s most legendary successes.

The route is further enriched by the Centro Documentazione Alfa Romeo, which preserves the brand’s historical archives and represents a valuable resource for restorations, certifications and research. For enthusiasts, one of the most fascinating experiences is the chance to discover the so-called “Stanze Segrete”, areas usually not open to the public where trophies, prototypes, engines and rare components are kept.

16. Discovering the art of Italian vermouth, Casa Martini, Pessione

🥇 Visit Italy’s brand partnership

We leave Lombardy and move into Piedmont, a land of hills, wine traditions and rituals of taste. In Pessione, less than 30 kilometers from Turin, we stop at Casa Martini, the place where one of the most iconic names in the Italian aperitivo opens the doors to its history.

Martini is much more than a vermouth: it is a symbol of style, conviviality and Italian imagination. For more than 160 years, it has fascinated the world with a language made of aromas, elegance, creativity and the desire to come together.

The experience can begin with the Martini Discovery Tour, a guided route that takes you through the production plant and the Mondo Martini Gallery, where the brand’s history comes to life through advertising campaigns, archive objects and stories linked to its evolution.

If you want a more sensory experience, the Martini Cocktail Experience combines the visit to the brand’s history with a mixology lesson led by a Martini Ambassador. You can learn how to prepare some iconic cocktails and get closer to the Martini world through the direct gesture of mixing and tasting.

Among the most original proposals, there is also the Vermouth Class, a hands-on experience that takes you into the heart of the art of vermouth. You discover botanicals, aromas and blending techniques, until you create your own personalized vermouth.

Finally, if you are looking for a more exclusive tasting, the Martini Privilege Tour allows you to discover the Martini product range up close through a premium experience.

15. Journeying through the history of the Italian hat, Borsalino Museum, Alessandria

We remain in Piedmont and reach Alessandria to encounter an accessory that became an icon: the Borsalino hat. Inside Palazzo Borsalino, the Borsalino Museum tells the story of a brand founded in 1857, which over time became a symbol of elegance, cinema, craftsmanship and Italian style around the world.

Opened in 2023 through the initiative of the Municipality of Alessandria and the Borsalino Foundation, the museum is conceived as a dynamic and contemporary space, where business history, objects, anecdotes and geographies intertwine in a route developed in both Italian and English.

The visit touches on three major thematic areas. It begins with Antica Casa, a multimedia installation retracing the main stages in the history of the hat factory and its bond with Alessandria, then continues with Manifattura, the section dedicated to hat production processes, where you can get closer to the techniques, gestures and secrets of Alessandria’s artisans.

The route culminates in the Galleria, where more than two thousand hats are on display. The visit is paced by eight monumental showcases designed by Arnaldo Gardella for the historic Borsalino Sample Room: true scenic treasure chests that lead you through just as many narrative sections.

Each showcase opens onto an almost metaphysical landscape and reveals a different identity of the brand: its relationship with cinema, the evolution of style, its international dimension, the culture of manufacturing and the dialogue between past and present.

14. Tasting grappa as a luxury experience, Distillerie Berta, Mombaruzzo

🥇 Visit Italy’s brand partnership

Still in Piedmont, we venture into the hills of Monferrato, to Mombaruzzo, in the province of Asti, where Distillerie Berta has been telling a family story deeply rooted in the territory for more than 75 years.

Founded in 1947 and now led by the third generation of the Berta family, the distillery has helped transform grappa from a simple after-coffee drink into a meditation spirit. The raw material is carefully selected from producers of the area’s great wines, while distillation takes place in discontinuous stills with copper boilers and steam.

The ageing cellars are among the most evocative parts of the experience: three of them can be visited and house barrels where the grappa slowly rests, accompanied by music and surrounded by scenographic LED lights. It is a route that engages sight, smell and taste, turning the tasting into an intimate story of Monferrato.

The Berta world, however, goes beyond the distillery. Around the brand, a true luxury hospitality experience has taken shape, with Relais Villa Castelletto and Dimora di Charme Villa Prato, complete with restaurants and a SPA specializing in “grappatherapy”.

This is joined by the new Enoteca di Villa Prato in Nizza Monferrato, designed to continue the journey through tasting, territory and hospitality.

Among the experiences to enjoy are the Berta Traditional Tour, the Berta Museo renewed with a multimedia approach, and Berta Lab, a creative workshop dedicated to bottle personalization. It is a route that allows you to travel through the family’s history, discover the cellars, taste a grappa distilled with love and understand how a product of tradition can become an international symbol of Italian elegance.

13. Entering the archive of sports protection, DAR Dainese Archivio, Vicenza

🥇 Visit Italy’s brand partnership

We leave Piedmont and move into Veneto. In Vicenza, at Via dell’Economia 64B, DAR Dainese Archivio tells the evolution of Dainese, a company founded in 1972 and born from the motorcycle adventure of a group of friends, before becoming a global benchmark in protective clothing and equipment for motorcycling, winter sports, cycling, horse riding and sailing.

At DAR, you can observe up close the technologies that have revolutionized the way we experience safety and sports performance, from the first leather motocross pants to the most futuristic solutions, including space suits.

The route unfolds across 19 sections and 900 square meters, guiding you through the Dainese universe with objects, materials, stories and innovations. You encounter the champions who helped make the brand legendary, from Giacomo Agostini to Valentino Rossi and Sofia Goggia, and discover how every form of protection is born from the dialogue between body, movement, risk and technology.

Among the most spectacular spaces is the famous “forest of suits”, a powerful vision made up of more than 500 authentic suits, capable of transforming the archive into a landscape of adrenaline, memory and sporting identity. The route also tells the story of extreme adventures such as the Tourist Trophy and the Paris-Dakar, taking you inside stories where courage, research and the limits of the human body coexist.

12. Tasting grappa in Italy’s oldest distillery, Distilleria Nardini, Bassano del Grappa

🥇 Visit Italy’s brand partnership

We remain in Veneto and arrive in Bassano del Grappa, where Distilleria Nardini, overlooking the famous Ponte Vecchio and the Brenta River, tells one of the most authentic traditions of Made in Italy: the story of grappa.

Founded in 1779 by Bortolo Nardini, it is the oldest distillery in Italy and marked the beginning of the modern tradition of this spirit. Its historic headquarters, the Grapperia sul Ponte, is the only original one in Bassano and is listed among Italy’s Historic Places.

Even today, you can stop at the counter, taste a glass, admire the Ponte Vecchio from a privileged viewpoint and let yourself be enveloped by an atmosphere scented with memory, wood, herbs and tradition. Every sip carries with it a family story that began in the eighteenth century and has now reached the seventh generation.

Nardini has always remained a family-run company and is part of the prestigious international club “Les Henokiens”, which brings together bicentenary businesses still controlled by the descendants of their founders. Over time, it has preserved its bond with the territory while also innovating the way grappa is produced and narrated, turning it into a spirit recognized and appreciated around the world.

The Nardini range includes young and aged grappas, with more intense or softer characters, together with iconic liqueurs such as Acqua di Cedro and the famous Mezzo e Mezzo, a symbol of the Bassano aperitivo. Tasting them right here, in the place where everything began, makes the experience even more special.

11. Becoming a grappaiolo for a day, Poli 1898, Schiavon

🥇 Visit Italy’s brand partnership

Still in Veneto, we move to Schiavon, in the Vicenza area, to discover Poli 1898, an artisanal distillery founded by GioBatta Poli and carried forward for more than a century with the same idea: to tell the story of the effort, tenacity and love enclosed in a spirit.

Here, grappa is not just a product, but the result of ancient gestures, patience, knowledge of the raw material and respect for a craft handed down over time. You can breathe in the atmosphere of the distillery, walk among the barrels in the underground cellars and discover up close the work of the grappaiolo, a symbolic figure of a deeply Italian tradition.

If you want an introductory experience, you can choose the Vetro experience: a relaxed walk through the history of the Poli family and the ancient craft of the grappaiolo, ending with a tasting of Poli spirits.

If you wish to go deeper into the production process, the Rame experience takes you through every stage of the distillery: from the artisanal still to the ageing cellars, all the way to the infusion department. Here too, the route ends with a tasting of Poli spirits, turning what you have seen into a memory of flavor.

The most immersive proposal is the Legno experience, designed for those who truly want to feel like a grappaiolo for a day. After a short visit to the Museo della Grappa at the Schiavon site, you enter the distillery’s production areas and taste a full-strength aged grappa, drawn directly from the barrels.

10. Enjoying the contemporary Venetian aperitivo, Terrazza Aperol Venezia, Venice

🥇 Visit Italy’s brand partnership

Before leaving Veneto, our journey through the icons of Made in Italy reaches Venice, where one of Italy’s most beloved rituals meets one of the most desired cities in the world. In Campo Santo Stefano, halfway between Piazza San Marco and Rialto, Terrazza Aperol Venice is the first Aperol-branded venue in the city and one of the liveliest experiences for enjoying the Venetian aperitivo in a contemporary way.

You sit in the heart of Venice, in one of its most elegant squares, and find that special moment of the day when the city slows down, the light changes and aperitivo becomes almost a small collective ritual.

The star is, of course, the Aperol Spritz, prepared by expert hands and served with some of the most beloved Venetian cicchetti: baccalà, meatballs, sarde in saòr and many other proposals that change according to seasonal ingredients. The menu is renewed every three months, keeping alive the dialogue between local tradition and contemporary taste.

You can also stop for lunch or dinner, discovering traditional recipes and modern reinterpretations prepared with seasonal ingredients.

Among the most interesting proposals are the masterclass dedicated to the Aperol Spritz, designed to reveal the secrets behind its preparation, and cooking classes on Venetian cuisine, ideal if you want to take home something more than a simple souvenir photo.

And if you dream of an even more special experience, you can enjoy an aperitivo on a boat, letting yourself be carried through the atmosphere of the lagoon with your Spritz in hand.

7. Entering the shop where Barilla pasta was born, Bottega Barilla, Parma

🥇 Visit Italy’s brand partnership

Still in Emilia-Romagna, we move to Parma, a city of taste and great Italian gastronomic traditions. In Strada della Repubblica, we discover a story that began in 1877, when Pietro Barilla, the son of bakers, opened a shop specializing in the production and sale of high-quality artisanal pasta.

Today, Barilla is one of the most recognizable Italian names in the world, linked to the idea of everyday cooking, conviviality and carefully selected ingredients. Bottega Barilla was created in the very place where it all began, building a bridge between the brand’s origins and its contemporary identity.

Since 2022, the Bottega has been telling the story of pasta through videos, installations, exhibitions and sensory experiences. The route takes you from the wheat harvest to the production process, with a focus on bronze-die extrusion, the geometry of pasta shapes and the details that make pasta a true icon of Italian cuisine.

One of the most original parts of the experience is dedicated to the senses: you can be guided through the perception of aromas, discover the tactile sensation of pasta also thanks to the Rugosimetro, and even listen to the sounds linked to the preparation of dishes.

In the workshop area, a welcoming kitchen becomes the stage for cooking shows by Barilla chefs, where recipes take shape before your eyes and the story of the product becomes a living experience. At the end of the visit, you can also explore the range on sale, from pasta shapes to products linked to the brand.

Visiting one of the dairies of the Parmigiano Reggiano Consortium allows you to approach this world from the inside. You can observe the stages of production, discover how a wheel is made, follow the journey that leads from milk to the great rounds left to rest on wooden shelves, and understand why every ageing period has its own unmistakable character.

4. Exploring the knowledge of medicinal plants, Aboca Museum, Sansepolcro

🥇 Visit Italy’s brand partnership

In Tuscany, we move to Sansepolcro, home to Aboca Museum, the only museum in Europe entirely dedicated to medicinal plants and their use through the centuries.

The museum was born from the vision of Aboca’s founder and President, Cavaliere Valentino Mercati, who wanted to share with the public a private collection built over time with passion and rigor. This original core, now at the heart of the museum and the Bibliotheca Antiqua, preserves a precious heritage: tools, books, artifacts and testimonies illustrating how humans have learned to know, transform and use medicinal herbs throughout history.

Opened in 2002 with the historical route Herbs and Health through the Centuries, Aboca Museum takes you on a fascinating journey through science, memory and nature. The route begins in the Hall of Mortars and continues through thematic rooms dedicated to history, ceramics and glassware, before reaching the most evocative sections: the Herb Room, the Ancient Apothecary, the Phytochemical Laboratory, the Poison Cell and the and the Nineteenth-Century Pharmacy.

It is an experience that looks to the past in order to question the future of the Planet, with references to figures such as Luca Pacioli and Leonardo da Vinci.

Just a few kilometers from the center, you’ll find Casa del Cioccolato Perugina, where you can let yourself be guided on a journey to discover the “food of the Gods”.

The experience begins at the Museo Storico Perugina, the second corporate museum in Italy, which tells the story of more than a century of passion for chocolate. The route opens with an introductory video dedicated to cocoa processing and continues through the museum gallery, among materials from the vast Buitoni Perugina Historical Archive: images, wrappers, packaging, films and unforgettable advertising Caroselli.

One section of the museum is dedicated to the world of cocoa, from its history and ancient processing techniques to modern production methods. The most iconic heart of the route, however, is dedicated to Bacio Perugina, born from the intuition of Luisa Spagnoli and now one of the most romantic symbols of Italian chocolate. You can discover anecdotes, the evolution of the product and even the famous record-breaking Bacio displayed inside the museum.

The visit then becomes a pure sensory experience with a tasting of Perugina products. One of the most special moments is tasting a Bacio Perugina taken directly from the production line: a small ritual possible only here, where the flavor of chocolate reaches you in its most immediate form.

The route continues with a view of the factory from an elevated walkway, which allows you, depending on the production calendar, to observe the creation of Perugina delicacies.

If you want to make the experience even more engaging, you can take part in a course at the Scuola del Cioccolato, where Perugina shares techniques, passion and creative skills with chocolate lovers.
