Description
Te Palace, also called Palazzo del Te, is anything but humble and inconspicuous in style. Built for the Duke of Mantua back in 1535, the lavish palace was an all-frills escape from the stress of his royal responsibilities. Its numerous halls and chambers are decorated with original frescoes by the premier artists of its time, including the spectacular Chamber of Giants. Take time to pore over the trinkets and antiques of the second-floor Civic Museum, and to wander the pristine grounds for the best look at the palace's remarkable architecture. Your Te Palace ticket includes self-guided access to the palace, as well as entry to the Civic Museum of Saint Sebastian's Palace and any temporary exhibitions.
