Following the sensational victory in 2020 at the .eu Web Awards in Brussels, as the best portal in Europe, Visit Italy is running to win the prestigious The Lovie Awards in the viral video category against the BBC. The competition is the most important in the sector at the European level. Every year, it rewards excellence in various fields: Online Advertising, Internet Video, Mobile & Apps and Social (the award's name is a tribute to Ada Lovelace, the first programmer in history).

The jury, made up of authoritative sector experts, chooses the most outstanding projects. The most remarkable ones are published on the site where the public votes for the Lovie Awards. From Vogue to The Guardian, Vice to The Economist, the leaders of global online communication compete in this eminent marketing competition each year.

A few hours ago, the International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences - an organisation founded to guide the creative, technical, and professional progress of the Internet and interactive media in general- announced the finalists of the eleventh edition of the Lovie Awards. Visit Italy, the channel promoting Italy worldwide, and the BBC -the famous British public service broadcaster- will compete in the viral video category.

Visit Italy reached the finals thanks to its advertising campaign entitled “Italy: beauty to share”. The spot went viral in 2020 and received over 60 million views worldwide. The ad successfully portrays the emotions that a visit to Italy can offer, through the most beautiful contents shared by travellers themselves on Instagram.

Each of you can support the Italian team by voting online by 21 October. How? With a simple click on the green button at the end of this article and voting for the campaign "Italy, beauty to share" on the official website.
