Interesting experience

Overall it was a good experience. Fernanda, her family ( mom and dad) are really welcoming, their house is beautiful, and the food served was delicio... us. However, the cooking class and overall experience was different than what I purchased or at least what I expected. I expected the class to be a group class and more hands on, at a farm ( or something similar to experience the limoncello production process). Apparently I was the only person who booked the cooking class that day so instead of 5pm I was moved to 6pm on the same day. Fernanda, her friend and their two kids picked me up in Sorrento and we drove to their house in M. Lubrense. Once we arrived at the house, most of the food was basically prepared; the eggplant was already fried and I just layered it on a bowl, the tiramisù was already made, the dough for the pizze fritte was ready and I helped to make the shapes…. you get the idea. Again their house is beautiful but it was not a farm/ and I didn’t see a limoncello production. Keep in mind that I have been to Italy at least 15 times mainly to local’s houses ( ex-in-laws) so the whole experience was nothing new to me. If you have never been to Italy and/or are not familiar with Italian cuisine, this is a great experience, but for me it was a bit boring, hence I politely asked to leave earlier than planned ( I was also dead tired and had to catch a train to the town where I was staying at). A magical time

My daughters and I felt like family as we learned how to make espresso, gnocchi, eggplant parmigiana and tiramisu. We will never host a party without ... making eggplant parmigiana again. We hope to come back again some day. Leggi di più
